• Dealing With Depression

  • Do you feel constantly exhausted and lacking motivation to do the things that once you looked forward to doing? Is food no longer appetizing or is it something that you've sought solace in? Does your mind feel detached and unable to focus or process even what would be the most simple of tasks? When you are able to focus, does it seem as if it is only on the negative aspects or outcomes of situations? Is it difficult to clear this mental fog and to feel like yourself? The self that seems difficult to recognize in photos smiling? Are even the most beautiful of memories somehow marred by these negative thoughts? These can all be symptoms indicative of depression.

Studies from the Archives of General Psychiatry, 2005 Jun; 62(6): 617-27 show that 14.8 million Americans over the age of 18 suffer from depression in any given year.    The Journal of the AMA published data that shows depression is more prevalent in women than men.

The most important thing for you to know is that you don’t have to live with these feelings of hopelessness and sadness.   You have taken the first step by acknowledging your feelings and looking for help.   The next big step to conquer depression is to get help.   Caring Counseling and Coaching makes getting help quick and easy with an experienced counselor.   You don’t have to look through long lists of counselors, make many numerous phone calls, and travel to an office.   You can pick up the phone, send a text or email and help is only minutes or hours away.  A caring and supportive response will greet you and help take the steps

There are many ways in which you can “train” your mind to overcome the negative thought patterns. Much like muscles, brains too need to be exercised in order to function properly. One way that this can be done is through cognitive behavioral therapy, or CBT. This very effective method of training the mind has been used and has helped with many of our clients.

If you’re reading this, it is probably because you or someone you care about may be suffering and you want answers and you want help and you want these feelings and emotions to subside.  Caring Counseling & Coaching is here to help with any questions you may have and to help you to regain your sense of self and happiness and to no longer feel burdened by the weight you’ve been carrying around with you.
